$10,000 Contribution to ZD

The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Inc. has selected Zenshin Daiko as a recipient of a $10,000 contribution in celebration with the Foundation’s Annual “Sharing the Joys of the Holidays” project.

The contribution will be presented at a luncheon at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel on December 12, 2001.

ZD works on New Home

Zenshin Daiko looks forward to moving into a new warehouse space that will serve as a practice studio and drum making workshop. The warehouse is owned by Jerry and Sheila Kawahara and is located at 1734 Wili Pa Loop in the Millyard Industrial Park.

Some improvements had to be made to the space because the building is brand new. Initially the cost of the improvements seemed to be beyond the means of Zenshin Daiko. However, once word got out that Zenshin Daiko needed help to do the improvements, the response has been overwhelming.

Zenshin Daiko has received help for everything including drawing up the plans, getting the necessary engineering stamps, plumbing, electrical, concrete, carpentry, and painting. Help is coming in the form of labor, materials and cash donations.

Once the improvements have been made then Zenshin Daiko will be able to expand some of its programs.
