Zenshin Daiko News - Volume 3, Issue 4 November 30, 2001 Page 6 Zenshin Daiko performed at the Maui County Fair’s Entertainment Tent at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce’s Karaoke Exhibition on October 4. Record Setting Month Zenshin Daiko had nine performances in the month of October. This is Zenshin Daiko record for most performances in a month. The previous record was seven set in June of 2000. Zenshin Daiko has a very busy performing schedule with an average of over four performances a month. In fact the November 18th performance at Hale Makua - Kahului was the 128th performance since Zenshin Daiko’s first performance 2 1/2 years ago. Zenshin Daiko feels fortunate that the Maui community has been so supportive. Zenshin Daiko has performed at all types of cultural and community events all over the Maui. There have been times that there were two performances in one day and up to four in one weekend. This schedule has challenged the members to be committed, dedicated and flexible. Committed and dedicated because there are still practices even in busy months. Flexible because sometimes they must prepare for several performances at a time. They have met the challenge and grown from it becoming seasoned performers. Of course credit has to be given to their parents too because only one student member can drive.
