ZD's First Ever Taiko Sleepover

(l-r) Nicole, Raeceen and Jenny (with crutches) team up to compete in games at Zenshin Daiko’s first Sleepover.

On Sunday, September 1, Zenshin Daiko held it’s first sleepover. This is something that the membership has talked about ever since finishing the practice studio. There were 20 members along with Tony and Val that spent the night. The sleepover started with pizza for dinner. Once dinner was over there were lots of taiko related games with prizes for the winners. The most exciting game was called “Give me, Give me”. Then grand prizes given to the team that scored best on the Zenshin Daiko Trivia Test.

After all the games were played everyone settled down to watch taiko videos. A Zenshin Daiko highlight video was put together that featured two of Zenshin Daiko’s very first performances in 1999 and all three taiko festivals. By the time all the videos were finished everyone was ready to go to sleep.

Early the next morning some parents showed up to cook breakfast for everyone. It was hard to say who enjoyed the evening more - ZD members or their parents who suggested that a sleepover be held every week...hmmm.
