Zenshin Daiko News - Volume 4,
Issue 4
November 30, 2002 Hanayui & San Jose Taiko visits with ZD Hanayui and San Jose Taiko came to Maui in October to present their collaboration, Himawari, in concerts at Helene Hall in Hana and at the MACC’s Castle Theater. Their busy schedule also included rehearsals, school shows in Hana and the MACC and a potluck hosted by Zenshin Daiko. Zenshin Daiko members were happy to be able to meet and talk to Hanayui and SJT. Maui was the first stop on their Hawaii tour and they had to hurry on to Oahu and the Big Island.
Valerie Jones explains all the details of a Zenshin Daiko potluck to the members of Hanayui.

ZD at 80th Maui County Fair Parade Zenshin Daiko performed in the 80th Maui County Fair Parade on October 3 before an estimated crowd of over 7000 spectators. There were 3800 participants in the Parade. This year was really special because Parade Director Bob Hill asked Zenshin Daiko to be part of the finale and play at the end of the Parade. His theory was that people will hear the taiko from far away. His theory proved correct as the crowd cheered when the trailer passed. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible for Zenshin Daiko to participate in the Parade. Special thanks to Bob Hill, Ralph Ajifu of FKS Rentals and Sales, Rojac Trucking and our driver Mike.
