Zenshin Daiko conducted an Introduction to Taiko workshop on February 8 and 15. The response to the workshop was overwhelming. There were 19 participants, some have waited over two years for a chance to learn taiko with Zenshin Daiko. Unfortunately, there were some other children who had to be turned away because of limited space and equipment.

The workshop participants were introduced to a some taiko history, different types of taiko, drum making, basic drills and playing techniques. Participants were also shown how taiko songs are learned without any written music.

After participating in the workshop, they were invited to become members of Zenshin Daiko. 18 of the 19 workshop participants decided to join Zenshin Daiko to learn more about taiko.
