May 31, 2004 Page 3 Hono Daiko Concert & Workshop on Oahu On March 20, several members of Zenshin Daiko and their families traveled to Oahu to watch the Hawaii International Taiko Festival which featured the Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble of Honolulu and Hono Daiko from Japan. The next day ZD members attended a taiko workshop conducted by Hono Daiko who is known for their powerful drumming, strength and stamina, while retaining their gracefulness dressed in delicate chiffon. Some ZD members also took a fue workshop by Masakazu Yoshizawa, a well known musician and composer who performs on the fue and numerous other instruments with Kenny Endo.
Ten members of Zenshin Daiko attended a workshop by Hono Daiko on March 21 at the "Chapel" at Kapiolani Community College.
Leslie receives a bachi bag from Hono Daiko for being the most spirited and energetic workshop participant.
Raeceen solos on the odaiko after capturing 1st place in her weight division at the MIL Judo Championships on May 8.
Reece & Janelle show great concentration while playing at King Kekaulike High School's Charity Walk on April 3.
On April 2, Zenshin Daiko performed at the blessing of Iao Intermediate School's "J" Building.
