February 06, 2004 Page 1 ZD's First Taiko Camp
ZD members who attended ZD’s Camp Keanae workshop had a lot of taiko and a lot of food.
Lance Acker and Toni Yagami enjoyed the fine cuisine prepared by Zenshin Daiko’s own chefs at Camp Keanae.
Tiffany Tamaribuchi makes a point during one of her workshops.
Too much fun. That’s what happens when you combine over 20 kids, a dozen parents, food, taiko, Tiffany Tamaribuchi, a basketball gym, more food, Lance and Toni, games, prizes and even more food.
Zenshin Daiko’s first sleep over taiko workshop on January 13 - 15 was a huge success. Everyone had too much fun. Tiffany, Toni and Lance put on some great workshops covering everything from odaiko to fue to stage presence to a really difficult drill that had everyone dancing around in circles. We even had a special workshop by B & B (Brooks & Bill or was the Bill & Brooks) that had everyone sanding bachi for the Introductory to Taiko Workshop.
Thank you to Tiffany, Lance and Toni for helping make this first camp really special and Aunty Jean and the rest of the kitchen crew for keeping everyone full for the whole weekend. Special thanks to Andy the director of Camp Keanae for doing such a great job keeping the camp in great shape and putting up with a whole weekend of drumming. We look forward to our next Taiko Camp with Eiichi and Masami from Kodo in March.
